Emmanuel Sanders is quietly enjoying his second-best season as a receiver in a Denver Broncos uniform.

Fresh off a second straight 100-yard and one TD performance for the wonderful wideout, and Sanders has been named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week by the NFL. This is Sanders’ first-ever conference honors, and it’s likely he was helped not only by his receiving efforts, but his perfect, 28-yard touchdown pass in the win over Arizona as well.

According to Pro Football Focus, Sanders’ 83.4 grade was the best of his current season, and better than all but one game (New England) in 2017.

Through seven games, Sanders’ 46 catches are one short of his total last season, while his yards (603) have already eclipsed his total (555) from last year. And, Sanders “the showman” also has four total touchdowns now, scoring a mere two in 2017.

He was hampered by injury last year, the worst season for the Broncos since 2010, but now the nine-year veteran has bounced back in a big way.

Without a doubt, Sanders has also passed Demaryius Thomas as the No. 1 receiver on the team. And while the Broncos are listening to trade offers for D.T. they aren’t for Sanders; he’s just too valuable.

If Denver does trade away Thomas by next Tuesday’s deadline (2 p.m. MT, Oct. 30), the Broncos could keep Sanders and build around him with the pieces they already have in place. Namely, Courtland Sutton, who’s 17.6 yards per catch average is currently seventh-best in the NFL.

This week, Sanders the Broncos (3-4) face the AFC West leading Chiefs (6-1) in Kansas City at 11 a.m. MT.
