It wouldn’t be football season if we weren’t trying to divine the outcome of the entire season before the first game is even played. As is custom this time of year, we asked the team at Mile High Sports AM 1340| FM 104.7 for their fearless Broncos predictions.

The outlook for 2017, on the whole, isn’t great.

When averaged out, the MHSR crew predicts the Broncos to be 8.3-7.7 – round those and you’re looking at an 8-8 season, Denver.

Here’s each and every fearless prognostication. They’re in print now, so there’s no turning back…

The Morning Huddle | M-F, 6a-7a

8-8… and it’s lucky the Broncos are catching the Cowboys without half their defensive line. Middle of the pack QB play gets you middle of the pack results.”

Nate Lundy | @natelundy

Mornings at 5280’ | M-F, 7a-9a

7-9. This team’s offense is in desperate need of something. Anything. And I’m not sure they’re going to find it in 2017. I hope I’m wrong, but as we sit here today, I just don’t see it.”

Shawn Drotar | @sdrotar

Mornings at 5280’ | M-F, 7a-9a

7-9. The hard truth is this: No matter who is starting at quarterback, the Broncos offense doesn’t scare anyone. In the rough and tumble AFC West, the Broncos’ margin for error is razor thin, making it more likely than not that the Broncos will be sitting out of the playoffs.”

T.J. Carpenter | @TJCarpenterShow

Mornings at 5280’ | M-F, 7a-9a

6-10. The adage goes ‘if you have two quarterbacks, you have zero.’ Well, the Broncos don’t have two or one – they have zero. And a team without a QB is in ‘Top-5 NFL Draft Pick’ range.”

Danny Williams | @TweetsDanny

Danny and Ryan | M-F, 9a-11a

11-5 with Trevor, 6-10 with Paxton. Eleven wins with Trevor scares me because it takes Denver out of the Drew Brees, Matthew Stafford sweepstakes next year.”

Mark Jackson | @MJax80

Anything’s Possible | M-F, 11a-12n

“I’ll go with 10-6. They’re beating both Oakland and Los Angeles at home, as well as Cincinnati. And I’m not ready to concede to New England, either.”

Gil Whiteley | @Gilfest

Anything’s Possible | M-F, 11a-12n

9-7. I think this is the best division in football and every team in it will have a winning record, anywhere from 11-5 to 9-7.”

Arran Andersen | @arranandersen

Anything’s Possible | M-F, 11a-12n

8-8. It’s not going to be pretty, but the Broncos will finish with a .500 record.”

Benny Bash | @TheBennyBash

The Big Show | M-F, 12n-2p

10-6. Youth will improve as the season goes on, and in a passing league the No Fly Zone is still the No Fly Zone – still dominant.”

Kent Erickson | @KentMErickson

The Big Show | M-F, 12n-2p

“This defense is good enough to get them to 9-7 – and they’ll sneak into the Wild Card.”

Joe Williams | @IrvandJoe

The Big Show | M-F, 12n-2p

8-8. On the back of the defense all the way.”

Sean Walsh | @seanwalshsports

Walsh and McBride | M-F, 2p-4p

“This is probably the hardest year to pick. It could be 10-6 or 6-10 – it could be that drastic. Thus, put me in at 8-8. The defense has the ability to take this team to the playoffs, but the offense has so much to prove.”

T.J. McBride | @TJMcBrideNBA

Walsh and McBride | M-F, 2p-4p

7-9. There are too many things that need to go right for them to be above .500.”

Eric Goodman | @EricGoodman

Afternoon Drive | M-F, 4p-6p

8-8. I think they will be a more complete overall team than last year, but I’m very concerned about the setup of their schedule and the amount of injuries to the defensive front seven – the run defense wasn’t good last year, and the preseason was anything but kind to that unit.”

Les Shapiro | @LesShapiro

Afternoon Drive | M-F, 4p-6p

10-6. An improved o-line and running game will mitigate the quarterback situation, and the defense will continue to be outstanding.”

Benjamin Allbright | @AllbrightNFL

NFL Insider

7-9. It’s a tougher schedule, which will do them in. The AFC West and NFC East might be the two toughest divisions in football.”
