The nation’s leading college receiver in 2014 is racking up All-American honors left and right, and he added another over the weekend as Sporting News named Colorado State’s Rashard Higgins to their 2015 Preseason All-Americans list as a first-team wide receiver.

Higgins is the only player from a non-major conference to earn first-team honors. KD Cannon of Baylor was selected as the other first-team wideout.

Through just two seasons Higgins currently sits 5th all-time in receptions and yards for Colorado State and holds the school record for touchdowns with 23 and counting.

Higgins has also been named to numerous all-MWC preseason rosters recently, as well as earning first-team honors on Phil Steele’s 2015 Preseason All-American Team.

CSU head coach Mike Bobo met with his team on Sunday in advance of the start of summer classes.

The Rams open the season on September 5 at home against Savannah State.
