Though the Obama administration hasn’t publicly declared its stance on Super Bowl 50, all signs point to the president wearing Broncos orange on game day.

On Wednesday, David Hurlbut of The Morning Huddle, welcomed White House Chief of Staff, Denis McDonough, to the show to discuss sports and healthcare. McDonough played safety for St. John’s University, under legendary coach John Gagliardi, and is partial to the Denver defense.

Von Miller looked unbelievable the other night, and if I’m Cam Newton, I’m worried about that,” McDonough said.

He declined to make a prediction on the winner of the game, but he did say that it would be nice to see Peyton Manning go out on top and that the Denver Broncos defense is dangerous.

“I really like those cornerbacks in Chris Harris and Aqib Talib,” McDonough said. “If Von Miller has half the game that he had the other day, a week from Sunday, it’s going to be hard for the Broncos to lose.”

Though President Obama has remained silent on who he’s rooting for, his closest advisor believes in the Broncos. Plus, he did pardon Demaryius Thomas’s mother earlier this season; a happy Demaryius certainly can’t hurt the Broncos’ chances.
