The Denver Broncos have failed to find production at the right tackle position since the departure of Ryan Harris, but John Elway and his staff recently acquired Jared Veldheer from the Arizona Cardinals during the offseason to help fill the void.

Speaking to Eric Goodman and Les Shapiro of Mile High Sports AM 1340 | FM 104.7, Veldheer talked about making his Broncos debut, the offensive line, and his health.

Veldheer will be suiting up in the orange and blue for the first time on Saturday, and is excited for his new opportunity with the Broncos. “It’s going to be awesome,” said Veldheer. “I’m trying to visualize actually coming out of the other tunnel at Mile High and go to the other sideline. I’m going to be ready to go and fired up. It’s going to be awesome. I’m excited.”

Pro Football Focus graded Veldheer a 54.3 last year and the Grand Rapids, Michigan native knows that there is room for improvement.

“I know, individually, that there’s things that I work on every day that need to be improved,” Veldheer continued. “I go in and try to work on those things, and then when you see some other little things start to happen – you work on those. You take one thing at a time and build off that.”

Veldheer started the first 13 games of the season for the Cardinals last season before being placed on injured reserve with an ankle injury, but Veldheer is healthy and ready to contribute to the Broncos’ offensive line.

“We’ve got a great medical staff here,” said Veldheer. “A great support staff of people who can get things loose, get things flair, and get things ready. They’ve done a great job. I haven’t even been thinking about my foot.”
