Stepping up with more playing time and building on his rookie season are the highest priorities for second-year safety Justin Simmons, who has filled the role since the release of  T.J. Ward.

In an interview with Eric Goodman and Les Shapiro of Mile High Sports AM 1340 | FM 104.7 inside the Broncos’ locker room, Simmons says that communicating with one another on defense is critical, and the defense is still looking to be better at it.

“You know, communication problems were huge in the first couple weeks,” Simmons said. “There’s still some big plays here and there, defensively, that we’re trying to eliminate.”

Simmons also discussed his pick-six against the Dolphins, his father’s critique of his recent play and more.
