The Denver Broncos announced wide receiver Juwann Winfree signed his rookie contract on Monday. The sixth-round selection out of the University of Colorado is the first member of the 2019 draft class to do so.

Winfree recorded 49 receptions for 649 yards and four touchdowns during his time with the Buffaloes. However, his collegiate career was marred by injuries, which never really allowed him to show his potential consistently. In the 2017 game against USC, though, Winfree caught five passes for 163 yards and found the end zone twice.

Now in the pros, Winfree is reunited with his college teammate, Phillip Lindsay.

“That’s my big brother right there,” Winfree said after being drafted. “He paved the way for me, doing what he did, coming from the University of Colorado. I’m just glad he was able to help me out there doing that. We have the same agent too, so I’m just completely blessed.”
