While a Raiders’ move from Oakland to Las Vegas does’t exactly impact the Denver Broncos, it sure is interesting to watch. At times, the Broncos and Raiders have shared in a rivalry unmatched throughout professional sports, verging on the level of disdain you see in college athletics.

Suddenly facing off against the Las Vegas Raiders would definitely be an odd feeling for Broncos Country.

If Colleen Brolinni, a Las Vegas resident, has anything to say about it, though, that won’t be the case, even if the Raiders do make a move to the Sin City.

She began a petition on Change.org earlier this week, asking for the Raiders to change their name and colors. Here’s what she wrote:

There is a chance that the Oakland Raiders might relocate to our wonderful city Las Vegas, NV. Most of us citizens would be OVER JOYED to have a NFL team in our town. Our town with everything, is missing a professional sports team and moving the Raiders here would be a dream come true! BUT — we are asking for the name of the team and the colors to be changed, perhaps voted on or some county wide contest. The signees of this petition do not care at this time what color/name is choose as long as we rid our team the silver/black colors and the Raider name. This is Las Vegas, we want a fresh start, we want a fresh team — we want to start our own legacy not be part of someone else’s. Thank you!!

Brolinni started the petition looking for 100 signatures and had earned over 80 by Tuesday afternoon. Some of those, though, were not exactly a declaration of support, as most commented with something along the lines of this:

“I signed this petition, not because I agree with the mission of the comment, but because I wanted to tell Colleen just how stupid she is for starting this petition…”

If Broncos Country really wants to get under the skin of Raider Nation, a few thousand signatures to change their name couldn’t hurt, right?
