Congratulations to Dianna Rowe, a senior cross-country runner and swimmer at Greeley West High School, for receiving 679 votes out of a total 1,375 and being named the ASPIRE Athlete of the Week for Week 11!

Dianna was the captain of the cross country team this season. She competed in the 5A State Championships in October and ran the seventh fastest time in school history in November at the Nike Southwest Regional XC Competition in Arizona with a time of 18:55. On the swim team, Dianna was named Rookie of the Year at Greeley West during her freshman year, and helped set the school record in the 200 freestyle relay.

“Dianna has broken school records in cross country and swimming, qualifying for state in 5A in both sports,” stated Greeley West’s athletic director, Jeff Cranson. “However, the thing that impresses me the most is that she never complains, she keeps the smile on her face, and she never says no to anything; she simply asks what she can do next.”

Dianna currently carries a 4.2 GPA while participating in the very rigorous International Baccalaureate Program and was selected by school faculty as the top IB Junior at Greeley West last year. She is highly respected by her peers and was voted homecoming queen and student body president, and serves as the leader of the orchestra. Outside of school, Dianna gives back to her community by volunteering as a horse handler for disabled children at the Horse Buds Therapeutic Riding Center, helped organize a blood drive through the IB program, and helps with Vacation Bible School.

“The repeating theme you will hear from everyone that works with Dianna is that she is the best; she will do whatever it takes to get a task done, and provides support for adults and peers to make school activities better,” concluded Mr. Cranson.

Dianna’s interview will air Sunday morning on the Mile High Sports Show (7a-9a) on FM 104.3 The Fan, but we’ve also got a sneak peek below.
