Congratulations to Haley Hildenbrand, a senior basketball player at Legend High School, for receiving 1,294 votes out of a total 2,720 and being named the ASPIRE Athlete of the Week for Week 12!
Haley is a senior at Legend, where she’s a power forward and captain of the Legend Titans basketball team. She’s averaged 20 points and nine rebounds per game for the Titans during the first three games of the season. Haley is also a competitive tennis player, placing fourth at the state tournament in singles last spring.
“I have coached for 21 years and without a doubt, Haley is one of the most special student-athletes I’ve had the pleasure of working with,” explained Eli Moore, Legend’s girls’ basketball coach. “She is the epitome of leadership and setting an example for others. She is all about the team and strives to make all players better. Additionally, she prides herself in the classroom and sets a similar example.”
Off the court, Haley has also been known to shine, currently holding a 4.02 GPA, being recognized as Student of the Quarter, and playing an active role in DECA and Link Crew. She gives back to others by coaching with the summer swim team, volunteering with the Future Titans Skill Development Program, and assisting with youth tennis camps.
“Haley goes out of her way to help all her teammates,” concluded Coach Moore. “She has never shown that she thinks she is better than anyone and simply just wants to make people better around her. She is superbly giving and caring.”
