Kylee Shook is a senior at Mesa Ridge High School and captain of the Grizzlies basketball team. Her contributions on both offense and defense helped lead the Grizzlies to a 22-1 record to close out the regular season. In Mesa Ridge’s Sweet-16 game against Vista Ridge, Kylee put up 37 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to catapult the Grizzlies into the quarterfinals. Her accomplishments have been recognized with awards that include being named to the McDonald’s All-American Team this season and being twice selected to the first-team All-State.

“Kylee is averaging 27 points, 14 rebounds and nearly five blocks per game this season,” stated Mesa Ridge’s head basketball coach, Jeff Beatty. “She was already holding the state career record for blocks, and last week she became the state career leader for rebounds, as well.”

Off the court, Kylee gives back to her community by helping run the Special Olympics State Regional Tournament the last three years and working with Vacation Bible School at her church.

“She leads by example and supports others to follow her lead,” added Coach Beatty. “She makes everybody around her better.”
