Brock Osweiler made his highly anticipated preseason game one start on Friday at Seattle, being handed the keys to the Denver Broncos offense while Peyton Manning had the night off.
Osweiler led the Broncos, scoring on all five drives, going 15 for 20 with 151 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions over two full quarters. The Broncos offense generated 14 first downs and 240 yards of offense with Osweiler at the helm. His quarterback rating for the night was a commendable 112.7.
For the Broncos, four drives resulted in field goals, and were it not for allowing a touchdown off a kickoff, they would have entered the locker room with a 19-3 lead. Instead, they would settle for a 19-10 advantage before Brock hung them up for the night. Perhaps his best pass of the day was a 17-yard touchdown pass floated into the hands of to Virgil Green streaking into the end zone to cap an impressive two-minute drill.
As expected, the social media world was abuzz over Brock’s big night. Here are some of the reactions from the Mile High Sports team and some of our favorite members of the Denver media as they watched the Broncos’ big righty go to work.
Blown assignment led to a 2nd-down sack. Osweiler had no shot; Avril engulfed him. Broncos settle for a 28-yd Barth FG and a 3-0 lead.

Glad that wasn't Peyton @jamesmerilatt good call. . .

That was a missed assignment sack. Virgil Green lost track of the dude.

And that's why you have PFM watch the first game behind a new offensive line. Some confusion there.

The game hasn't slowed down for Brock, even in his fourth year. . . He's got Happy Feet

No Osweiler pass has been batted down thus far. #Broncos

I think Brock did pretty well he's a nervous as can be but hasn't cracked When he get's comfortable back there we'll see if he's the guy.
— Gil Whiteley (@Gilfest) August 15, 2015
Wow. . . Brock took charge, he's taking charge. . . You gotta like that. .
— Gil Whiteley (@Gilfest) August 15, 2015
Osweiler is decisive tonight. He'll be mad over the missed deep ball, but more positive than negative so far.

Osweiler the same guy he was last few years. Takes too long on 1st read, drops eye level, rattled easily. Moves chains on shallow outs/curls

thought that was BO's best pass of the game. Just a laser down the middle. On the money.
— Vic Lombardi (@VicLombardi) August 15, 2015
I am an admitted Brock hater. But that was a damn nice throw.
— Daniel Mohrmann (@DanMohrmann) August 15, 2015
BROCK. . . on the $$$$$
— Gil Whiteley (@Gilfest) August 15, 2015
That's the best pass I've ever seen Brock throw.

Very impressive by Osweiler and the #Broncos. Perfect TD pass.

Box score watchers gonna love Osweiler. Tape watchers will see a 6'8" Kyle Orton.
— Benjamin Allbright (@AllbrightNFL) August 15, 2015
I am now confident we won't go 3-13 with Brock as quarterback.

With all the attention Brock was getting, we can’t help but give a little love to the man on our July cover, Shane Ray. This tweet from Vic Lombardi about sums up Ray’s night…
