William Bowlen, brother of longtime Broncos owner Pat Bowlen, asked a Colorado Court District to remove Richard Slivka, Mary Kelly and Josiah (Joe) Ellis as agents of Pat Bowlen and of his power of attorney Thursday. William (Bill) Bowlen announced the information in a release, which was later tweeted out by Ian Rapoport.

According to Rapoport, Bill Bowlen claims that the trio of Slivka, Kelly and Ellis have failed to uphold Pat Bowlen’s wishes, and have not acted in the best interest of the Bowlen family or the Broncos since taking control in 2014.  Bill Bowlen also states that Slivka, Kelly and Ellis have conflicts of interest that impair their ability to act in the best interest of his brother.

As the appointed agents of the Pat Bowlen’s, the defendants currently have total control over the Broncos and a variety of family assets. It is unknown if Bill Bowlen’s decision to file a petition Thursday is related to Brittany Bowlen’s recent declaration of wanting to be the team’s owner someday.

“I do have ambitions and goals to one day becoming the controlling owner of the Denver Broncos,” Brittany told CBS Denver. “And I’ll keep working toward those goals. I’m not there yet, but I really believe I can get there.”
