The Colorado Rockies announced Tuesday that they have selected the contract of right-handed pitcher Brooks Pounders from Triple-A Albuquerque and have optioned right-hander Scott Oberg to Triple-A. Additionally, right-handed pitcher Zach Jemiola was designated for assignment.

Pounders, 27, will be making his first appearance on the Major League roster for Colorado, having last appeared in the Major Leagues with the Angels in 2017. In seven relief appearances for Albuquerque this season, Pounders has no record with a 3.60 ERA (10.0 IP, 4 ER), four walks and nine strikeouts.

The Riverside, Calif., native signed a Minor League contract with Colorado with an invite to Spring Training on Dec. 5, 2017, and posted a 4.00 ERA (9.0 IP, 4 ER) with one walk and eight strikeouts in eight Spring appearances. In his Major League career, he is 3-1 with a 9.78 ERA (23.0 IP, 25 ER), eight walks and 25 strikeouts across 24 relief appearances. He will wear #50.

Oberg, 28, has made 10 appearances this season and is 1-0 with a 6.55 ERA (11.0 IP, 8 ER), five walks and 10 strikeouts. the Tewksbury, Mass., native has gone 5-6 with two saves, a 5.15 ERA (153.2 IP, 88 ER), 71 walks and 129 strikeouts since his Major League debut on April 14, 2015 vs. San Francisco.

Jemiola, 24, posted a 4.50 ERA (6.0 IP, 3 ER) across three appearances with two walks and three strikeouts this past Spring Training. Across six Minor League seasons has made 119 appearances, 111 starts with a 4.88 ERA (634.0 IP, 344 ER), 210 walks and 419 strikeouts.

The Rockies currently have a full 40-man roster.
