PRACTICE REPORT: Buffs Co-OC and QB’s Coach talks open competition between Montez and Noyer

Colorado Buffaloes (4-4, 1-4) Co-Offensive Coordinator and Quarterback’s Coach Brian Lindgren addressed the media after practice on Monday, October 23rd.

Coach Lindgren discusses what went wrong in the loss to the (#15/#16) Washington State Cougars (7-1, 4-1), 28-0. The conditions were terrible in Pullman, Washington for the game and Lindgren discusses how that effected the Buffs’ performance.

There is now an open quarterback competition between redshirt-sophomore Steven Montez and redshirt-freshman Sam Noyer. Coach Lindgren discusses the changes he’s seen in the mentalities of both individuals during practice this week.

Head Coach Mike MacIntyre says he will name a starting quarterback at game time when the Buffs take on the California Golden Bears (4-4, 1-4) on Saturday, October 28th. However, the widespread belief is, barring anything drastic, that it will be Montez who gets the nod for CU’s annual Homecoming game.
