In case you’re one of the few Rockies fans hoping the franchise can acquire a few more bats for their lineup, this one for you. According to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports, the Colorado Rockies are looking into trading for Mark Trumbo, Mariners’ 1B.

Trumbo, who is projected to make $9.1 million in his final season of arbitration-eligibility, is apparently a contract the Mariners’ new general manager, Jerry Dipoto, would like to unload before next week’s Winter Meetings.

For both the Rockies and Trumbo, a move to Coors Field could prove beneficial; Trumbo has averaged 30 homers per 160 games during his career.

As a first baseman/outfielder, Trumbo could prove to be a flexible option in  Walt Weiss‘ lineup.

If the Mariners do trade Trumbo, this will be the second time Dipoto will have traded the former All Star, as he dealt Trumbo to the Diamondbacks when he was the general manager of the Angels.

Apparently, the two just aren’t comparable.
