One of Denver’s primary figures on the defensive line, Jared Crick, could be lost for most of if not all of the season according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Crick’s back injury escalated during the preseason, causing him to miss all but the first preseason game and the first week of the regular season. According to Rapoport he will undergo surgery and is likely headed for injured reserve.

The sixth-year defensive end played 82.06 percent of Denver’s defensive snaps in 2016, his first year with the Broncos. He recorded 53 tackles (31 solo) three sacks and six passes defended last season.

Carlos Henderson, Shane Ray and Billy Winn are already on Denver’s injured reserve list. The team may return a maximum of two players from injured reserve during the season, only after Week 8.
