Charlie Blackmon and the Colorado Rockies have agreed to a one-year deal that will pay the two-time Silver Slugger, $14 million dollars in 2018, according to multiple reports. Blackmon was entering his final year of arbitration with the club.

Blackmon returns to the Rockies lineup after batting earning a N.L. batting crown (.331) and driving in 104 RBI, with a MLB-record 103 coming from the leadoff spot. With his new deal, Blackmon nearly doubles his $7.3-million salary earned in 2017. Blackmon earned his second All-Star nomination in 2017 and his second consecutive Silver Slugger award.

Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post also reports discussion for a long-term deal could start as soon as spring.
