This weekend, Sept 4-6, at Front Range Airport in Watkins, Colo. the creators of the iconic top speed competition, The Texas Mile bring their unique brand of motorsports action to the Mile High City.
The Colorado Mile, which offers drivers of every type of car and motorcycle you can dream of the chance to push their vehicles to the limit, is an even unlike any other in Colorado. On the one-mile closed runway, drivers can put their custom hot rod, street bike or muscle car to the test – heck, even four-door family sedans are welcome on the track.
Top speed categories include Top Speed, Fastest GTR, Fastest Motorcycle, Fastest Camaro, Fastest Shelby GT500, Fastest Corvette, Fastest Porsche, Fastest Cadillac, Fastest Female and Most Runs. The recent Houston 1/2 Mile even featured a Fastest Electric Zombie Car category.
What’s cooking for The Colorado Mile? The best way to find out is to attend. Registration for racers is still open on a limited basis. Spectators can catch all the action for just $25 and kids 10 and under are free. A single ticket covers all three days of exciting racing action!
