The McCaffrey family continues to kill it in the football world, as their third son, Dylan McCaffrey, announced Monday on Twitter that he is bound for the “Big House” in 2017.

Sports Guy Mike on Mile High Sports AM 1340 was joined by Chris Brewer and Sean Walsh to discuss the latest McCaffrey to begin the transition into college sports.

“What a family!” Walsh said. “Lisa, with the soccer, Ed with the football, Christian doing his thing at Stanford, Max at Duke and now Dylan (at Michigan).”

ESPN 300 has McCaffrey ranked as the 25th recruit overall in the 2017 class. He is also the top-ranked pocket passer in his class, making him the best ranked quarterback Michigan has acquired in ten years.

Though the McCaffrey family has strong ties with Stanford, Dylan decided to follow his own path, to the certain delight of Wolverine fans. Dad still offered his support on Twitter.

“Good for Harbaugh. Good for Big Blue,” Walsh said. “I think this kid is going to be in the Heisman watch.”

If pedigree had anything to do with it, Dylan should be competing for a Heisman in due time, as did his brother, Christian, who was the runner up last season and was actually awarded the AP College Football Player of the Year for his stellar performance.

Brewer couldn’t help but express exasperation with Colorado universities who, despite three opportunities, have failed to acquire a single McCaffrey.

“What’s up with CU?” Brewer said. “Why can’t we get these kids.”

Whatever the reason, they will probably have one more shot, as Dylan’s little brother, Luke, will be a Sophomore at Valor next season.

With Dylan becoming the third McCaffrey son to go to a Division I school, Sports Guy Mike couldn’t help but pose a question which, after some consideration, doesn’t seem crazy at all.

“Could this be the next Manning family?”

It’s not so outlandish. Like Eli and Peyton Manning, each McCaffrey has chosen a different university. Max is eligible for the draft this year with Christian not far behind. Dylan is on the right path now and Luke is coming into his own at Valor Christian High School.

If the trend continues, Ed might have double the number of NFL sons that Archie has. Now that would be killing it.
