Everyone who was expecting Mike MacIntyre to turn CU into a Pac-12 contender overnight was sorely mistaken. While the Buffs are taking strides in the right direction they still have a ways to go.

After starting the season 3-1 hopes were high in Boulder that the Buffs could make noise against an Oregon program that has clearly regressed. Colorado went toe-to-toe with the Ducks in the first half, hitting the locker room with a 17-17 tie. But, Oregon blow things open in the 3rd quarter scoring on consecutive drives. Mark Helfich’s team would end up cruising to an easy 41-24 victory.

Joe Williams of the Irv and Joe Show said that MacIntyre needs to start grabbing all of the top Colorado high prospects.

“MacIntyre and his bunch, they’re missing out on players in this state. They haven’t built a fence around this state,” Joe said.
