It’s time to shape up, or ship out.

Hey, Vance Joseph has got to know the writing’s on the wall, right? A 5-11 season, the worst showing since John Elway took over the Denver Broncos front office in 2011, won’t be acceptable two years in a row.

In fact, missing the playoffs for a third straight year may be enough to have Joseph shown the door at Dove Valley; and Las Vegas is already weighing in.

The only coaches higher than Joseph on the list are Hue Jackson of the Cleveland Browns (that’s easy money!) and Adam Gase of Miami. Cincinnati’s Marvin Lewis is even money with Joseph, and Lewis is on the other end of the coaching spectrum, being with the Bengals for 15 years.

Joseph, on the other hand, has only been a head coach once, in 2017. And, he may have already been feeling the pressure, firing six assistant coaches and hiring seven more this offseason. The Broncos now have two offensive line coaches — a novel concept — there’s both a defensive backs coach and his assistant, bringing the total number of coaches under Joseph up to 22.

If there aren’t enough people to properly run the team now, there never will be. Joseph has a full staff to delegate tasks to, and now it’s time to see results.

The Broncos aren’t going to wait around and see if he can turn this team into a winner. For Joseph, it’s win or go home, this year.
