For the first quarter in Ann Arbor, Mich. it looked as though there would be another miracle. The heavily favored Wolverines, in their own (big) house, trailed the Colorado Buffaloes 21-7 after one quarter.

The tides would turn, especially in the second half when CU starting quarterback Sefo Liufau was sidelined with injury, but the Buffaloes will have plenty of positives to take away from their eventual 45-28 loss.

Before exiting the game in the third quarter, Liufau passed for 246 yards and three touchdowns against a Michigan defense that had allowed just 17 points in two full games to that point. Derek McCartney, with his grandfather in the building to celebrate the Miracle at Michigan, recovered a strip sack for the Buffs’ second touchdown of the afternoon. Shay Fields caught four passes for 99 yards, including a 70-yard touchdown.

Colorado next travels to No. 22 Oregon, who lost at unranked Nebraska this week.
