The Memorial Day weekend is a great time for getting out on the green grass and playing a little front yard football, but it can quickly go from fun to frustrating when you’re trying to cover an All-Pro wide receiver.

That was the case for Chicago Bulls star forward Jimmy Butler, who was trying to cover his friend, Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas this past weekend.

In a video posted on Instagram, Butler admitted that his football dreams might be ‘slipping away’ after he could not keep the ball out of the hands of his good friend.

Butler made noise last year with another social media video showing off his football skills, and suggesting he could play in the NFL.

It’s unlikely the Broncos will have any interest after seeing the latest tape on Butler, but Nuggets fans certainly would be happy to see him in Denver.

The 6-foot-7 forward has averaged 15.6 points and 3.1 assists per game over six seasons with the Chicago Bulls.
