The Denver Outlaws (2-4) snapped a two-game losing streak, handing the Charlotte Hounds (4-1) its first loss of the regular season with a dominating 17-13 victory Saturday night.
Signing with the Denver earlier in the week, Outlaws fans would not have to wait long to see some offensive production from rookie attackman Chris Cloutier, who finished the game with eight points (six goals, two assists).

“Heading into the game tonight, I was really nervous. I was texting my friends at home and telling them that I was nervous, and having no idea how I was going to do,” Cloutier said.
“Once I scored the first goal, all of the nerves kind of just went away. It’s not something that I would have imagined in my first game here.”
Along with Courtier, Outlaws attackmen Eric Law (five goals) and Kylor Bellistri (three goals) each completed hat tricks of their own to help the Outlaws snap the two-game losing streak and get back to their winning ways.
The Outlaws were able to jump out to an early lead with four-goal scoring run in the first quarter before the Charlotte Hounds got on the board with a goal from attackman McCallion Joseph. The Outlaws would come back with three goals of their own. Attackmen Eric Law notched two and Kylor Bellistri added one as well.
However, the Hounds created some offensive pressure in the second quarter, cutting into the early Outlaws lead. Despite giving up three goals in the period, the Outlaws were able to take an 8-4 lead into the break.
“He (Coach BJ O’Hara) kind of just touched back up on the last games, and he told us that we have to keep our foot on the pedal and not let up” Cloutier said.
The Hounds continued to pressure the Outlaws in the third quarter, throwing three more goals on the board. The Outlaws countered with a four-goal scoring run of their own to secure the lead heading into the final quarter.
In the fourth, defenseman Eric Law tallied a pair of late goals to help seal the deal. The Outlaws and Hounds will face off again in Charolette on June 2.
