The Colorado Avalanche’s focus will turn towards the future this week, as they conduct their annual development camp. Beginning on Tuesday with medical and physical testing, the camp will run through Saturday and feature 24 players (17 Avalanche prospects and seven camp invitees).

All of the on-ice activities, which will take place at Family Sports Center in Englewood, will be open to the public free of charge. Wednesday through Friday will feature a morning session (8:30-11:15 a.m.) in which the prospects will be split into three groups, who will each skate for 45 minutes, and an evening session (4-5 p.m.) in which all of the participants will skate together. Saturday will feature a group session in the morning (8:15-9:45 a.m.), a 3-on-3 challenge (10-10:30 a.m.) and a skills competition (10:30-11 a.m.).

In addition to the seven invitees, the camp roster features all six of the team’s selections in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft (including first-round pick Tyson Jost), five of their selections in the 2015 NHL Draft (including recent signee A.J. Greer), two picks from the 2014 NHL draft, three picks from the 2013 NHL draft (including recently-named DU captain Will Butcher) and J.T. Compher, who was acquired in the Ryan O’Reilly trade.
