While the NHL All-Star game was not kind to Nathan MacKinnon, the all-star break was kind to the Colorado Avalanche.

The Avalanche will return to action on Tuesday, when they face the Anaheim Ducks. Expected to return to the lineup are defenseman Tyson Barrie and right winger Rene Bourque, who were both out with lower-body injuries, but have been activated from injured reserve.

Barrie leads Avalanche defensemen in scoring, having tallied three goals and 23 assists. After a fast start this season, Bourque’s production has tailed off some. He has nine goals and 13 points in 41 games.

The Avalanche also recalled goaltender Spencer Martin from the AHL’s San Antonio Rampage on Monday. He was scheduled to play in the 2017 AHL All-Star Classic no MOnday, but could not due to the recall.

The puck is scheduled to drop at 8 p.m. MT.
