After three years as the Colorado Avalanche’s head coach, Patrick Roy has announced that he will step down from the position prior to the 2016-17 season.

From the sounds of the statement, Roy was not happy with the level of say he had in the team’s vision and decision making.

With roughly two months until the beginning of the 2016-17 NHL season, the Avalanche will have to pick a replacement quickly.
