Bronco fans can relax about the backup quarterback

You may think otherwise, but the Denver Broncos quarterback situation is already solved.

Case Keenum is a clear cut starter and Chad Kelly is a clear No. 2 and as Broncos Blitz podcast host Ronnie Kohrt dishes on the latest regarding the backup quarterback, he explains why it’s time to relax about the position.

With how Denver is set up, it’s clear anyone else not named ‘Keenum’ taking meaningful snaps in 2018 would sink the season. Kelly or Paxton Lynch won’t save them, nor an outside rumored name in Teddy Bridgewater.

If the asking price is anywhere near a 3rd-4th round pick as reported by multiple sources — if not higher — the Broncos should stay clear says Kohrt. While Bridgewater is an upgrade from Kelly (by how much really?) It doesn’t change or alter the season outlook in the event Keenum isn’t taking the snaps as the starter and Bridgewater is, so what’s truly the gain of making a deal?

To give up that kind of future asset is simply far too much, so Broncos fans should relax and accept the arms Denver has now. The emergence of Kelly certainly makes this an easier discussion.

Kohrt also dishes on the offensive line, rookies, special teams and more in the latest podcast.
