Champ Bailey to enter Broncos’ Ring of Fame in 2019

Champ Bailey was announced as a selection for the NFL Hall of Fame class of 2019.

It’s going to be a memorable year for Champ Bailey. The legendary cornerback will enter the Pro Football Hall of Fame this summer – and according to Nicki Jhabvala, Bailey, will also be Denver’s lone Ring of Fame honoree.

Bailey will be the 33rd person to enter the Ring of Fame and first since former Broncos coach Red Miller (1977-80) was selected in 2017. The last players to be inducted were Jason Elam (1993-2007), John Lynch (2004-07) and Simon Fletcher (1985-95) – all were honored in 2016.

In his historic career, Bailey was a 12-time Pro Bowl selection and helped lead Denver’s defense through five postseason appearances. In the 2006 season, Bailey put together one of the best individual performances by any defensive back in NFL History – finishing the year with 10 interceptions and zero touchdowns allowed.

According to Jhabvala, Bailey will be honored by the Broncos in Week 6. Denver will host the Tennessee Titans that week, and will present both Bailey and Pat Bowlen with their HOF rings. Traditionally these presentations take place at halftime.
