Eli Manning explains his Super Bowl 50 face

Peyton Manning

There were a lot of storylines coming out of Super Bowl 50, but surprisingly, it was Eli Manning‘s face that garnered some of the most attention.

In case you missed it, following C.J. Anderson‘s game-sealing touchdown, CBS cut to the Manning box, where Football’s most famous family was going crazy … well, except for Eli.

Why so down, Eli?

Did you just feel your legacy take a hit? The only thing you had over your big brother was the two championship rings, and now you don’t even have that. Maybe you had a few grand riding on the Panthers?

Well, according to Eli, it was nothing like that.

“I was just focused on whether they’d go for two and, uh, the defense had to step up and make some stops,” Eli fold a TMZ cameraman.

Should we buy his reasoning? It sure didn’t look like Cooper or anyone else was too worried about the two-point conversion. Then again, as every sports fan can attest, an early celebration is a sure way to guarantee a jinx. Maybe Eli was just looking around for some wood to knock on?
