Listen to “Rest is a Weapon” on Spreaker.

The Avalanche steamrolled the Vegas Golden Knights 7-1 in Game 1 thanks largely to their top line and stud defenseman Cale Makar. JJ and Aarif break down the importance of Nathan MacKinnon, Mikko Rantanen and Gabriel Landeskog constantly showing up for playoff games and the depth that supports them. The guys then discuss the curious decision to start Robin Lehner. They then dive into Ryan Reaves’ actions and the type of supplemental discipline we should expect from the NHL’s Department of Player Safety. Nazem Kadri’s suspension was also upheld by Gary Bettman. Aarif explains what’s next in the process. All that and more on this edition of Hockey Mountain High: Your go-to Avalanche Podcast. Produced by Patrick Stedman.
