The Jose Reyes era in Colorado has ended, but the team still needs to find a way to part ways with the former All Star.
The veteran shortstop was designated for assignment by the Rockies, giving the team 10 days to either cut him, find a trade partner or send him down to the minor leagues.
With Reyes name being about as toxic as possible, there has been little to no trade market for the shortstop, but according to former teammate Alex Cora, the defending champion Kansas City Royals are considering bringing in Reyes to play second base.

The Royals currently have an opening at the position since they opted to part ways with veteran infielder Omar Infante.
The Rockies have already put themselves in a position to take on the remaining money on Reyes’ contract, meaning it would only take minimal compensation from the Royals to get a deal done.
At this point, though, anything is better than nothing.
