Lack of leadership part of the problem for CU men’s basketball team

Though they finally won their first conference game Thursday night, the Colorado Buffaloes have struggled mightily this season. A minimum of 11 games remain for the Buffaloes, with a trip to the NCAA tournament looking like nothing more than a pipe dream.

It seems that there are a lot of problems for this struggling Buffs this season, but what’s their primary issue?

“It’s not the chemistry issue. It’s a leadership issue,” Adam Munsterteiger, publisher of BuffStampede.com, told Dan Jacobs and Renaud Notaro during The Final Verdict on Mile High Sports Radio. “There is a difference between these guys who don’t like each other, they’re bad teammates, and then there is the other side of it where there is not just enough leadership to hold people accountable again.”

So far, the Buffs have displayed a creditable fight, especially in the way they rallied late at WSU to force overtime. Yet that could be more difficult to maintain, as the losses continue to pile up.
