Max Garcia is ready to show his grit in the NFL

The Broncos continued to accumulate big men on the offensive side of the ball Saturday morning when they selected Florida center and guard Max Garcia No. 133 overall.

The 6’4”, 307 pound former Gator once again, has the size and versatility the Broncos have been seeking and signing in the offseason. Garcia is ready to come in immediately and continue to display his playing style.

“I’m going to give it my all. I play with grit. That is how I would describe myself,” he said via phone conference Saturday. “I let my actions speak for themselves. My teammates saw it in the way I practiced and the way I was in the film room.”

During his 2013 season Garcia played guard and center before playing his final season in college entirely at center. He is confident that he can play wherever the Broncos ask him too when he arrives in Denver.

“I work well in many combinations,” he said. “I can play anywhere between the two guard positions and center.”

The Broncos now have several second year offensive linemen, a couple of newly signed free agents and two 2015 draft picks to compete at offensive line. Garcia is more than ready for the competition and shed a little light on where he may have the edge when he arrives at camp.

“I feel like a lot of my game is mental preparation and being confident and knowing what I am going to do. With that being said I just what to go in, get in the playbook and learn that as quickly as possible, as early as possible.”

Garcia is clearly self-motivated to learn the playbook but also knows that his quarterback will be expecting him to grasp it quickly.

“I know Peyton is going to be out there and I know there is no room for error. I already know the type of player he is. He goes by excellence.”

Like Ty Sambrailo, Garcia will immediately compete for a starting role along the line. Presumably he will start camp at center with Matt Paradis and the recently acquired free agent, Gino Gradkowski.
