Although reports surfaced weeks ago that the Denver Nuggets and Danilo Gallinari had agreed to extend the forward’s contract, the team officially announced Monday that the sides have reached a new multi-year agreement.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports, the deal will pay Gallinari $14 million this year, $15.5 million in 2016-17 and a player option worth $16.1 million in the final year.

Although slowed in 2013 and through the first part of 2014-15 because of an ACL injury, Gallinari had a superb close to the season averaging 19.1 points and 4.9 rebounds over the final 22 games while shooting 45% from the field, 40% from three and 90% from the free throw line.

Gallinari is the third Nuggets forward to be extended within the last calendar year. Kenneth Faried agreed to a new deal in Oct. 2014 and the club gave Wilson Chandler an extension in mid-July.
