After slugging six home runs in his first four games, Trevor Story’s historic streak is over.

Against the San Diego Padres on Saturday night the Rockies rookie shortstop went 1-for-5 with a single. The Rockies lost 16-3.

Story struck out three times on the night, including in the 9th inning with a final chance to extend his streak.

Story broke an MLB record for the most consecutive games with a home run to start a career and then broke a Rockies record of most consecutive games with a home run to start a season.

The rookie phenom has a chance to start a new streak on Sunday against the Padres in the series finale.
