WATCH: Case Keenum introduced as Denver Broncos QB

The Denver Broncos introduced their new quarterback to Denver and the media on Friday in a press conference at the team’s headquarters in Englewood.

Case Keenum signed a two-year contract Thursday worth a reported $36 million ($25 million fully guaranteed), and will immediately move to the top of the depth chart — above 2016 first-round draft pick Paxton Lynch and 2017 seventh-round draft pick Chad Kelly.

Keenum, who led the Minnesota Vikings to the NFC Championship Game in 2017, called Denver “far and away the best option” for him in free agency. He compared the situation in Denver favorably to the one he inherited in Minnesota when he took over as the starter in Week 2 after Sam Bradford suffered a knee injury. Like Minnesota, Denver boasts a strong overall defense and downfield threats at wide receiver.

“All those things that make great football teams, it’s here. That’s why [Denver] was at the top of my list,” the QB said.

Broncos General Manager John Elway introduced Keenum, and then spoke after him about the process of finding the team’s starting quarterback for 2018 after finishing a disappointing 5-11 in 2017.

“[Keenum] had good people around him in Minnesota,” Elway said, “and we plan on getting good people around him here and we’re off to a good start.”
