Most rookies try not to ruffle too many feathers during their first month in the league, but not Devontae Booker; he’s here to make a statement, and he’s not waiting around to do it.

Booker, the Broncos’ fourth-round selection out of Utah, doesn’t plan on waiting in the wings or deferring to veterans; he plans on taking someone’s job, and if you’re a Broncos fan, that has to be music to your ears.

Whether you’re a fan of C.J. Anderson, Ronnie Hillman, Juwan Thompson, Kapri Bibbs or whomever, the fact that there’s a new face on the roster with the hunger to challenge the entire running back corps before his first training camp snap is pretty impressive.

It won’t be easy, though. While John Elway and the Broncos organization invested a fourth-round pick into Booker, they invested $7.6 million into Anderson, too.

That said, knowing the Broncos, they’ll let the competition play out, and if Booker earns the starting role, he’ll get the starting role.
