The Denver Broncos opted to remain quiet during the trade deadline, but not everyone did. In fact, this year we saw one of the largest deals we’ve seen in a long while.
On Tuesday, a day before the actual deadline, the New England Patriots shipped off All-Pro linebacker Jamie Collins to the Cleveland Browns in exchange for a compensatory third-round draft pick. Collins, Pro Football Focus’ ninth-highest graded linebacker (88.9), was seen by many as the Patriots best defensive player, which made the move an odd one.
Reports following the trade insinuated that New England was tired of Collins’ attitude and had no expectations of paying him like the top-tier linebacker he claimed to be.
But when asked by the Cleveland media on Wednesday whether he was looking to get “Von Miller” money, he gave a very succinct answer.

Yes, let’s.
Even Collins, who is one of the best linebackers in the league today, knows he’s no Von Miller.
Still, with all the cap space the Cleveland Browns do have, I’m sure he’ll make his fair share of money this offseason as a free agent.
