The National Hockey League and adidas Tuesday unveiled the new ADIZERO Authentic NHL jerseys and uniforms for all 31 NHL teams, including the Colorado Avalanche, which will make their on-ice debut with the 2017-18 season.

The adidas design team worked with the Colorado Avalanche to create a modern uniform design inspired by the team’s inaugural 1995 uniform. This new uniform features the signature “peak” hemlines and arm striping, tributes to the team home state landscape.

The colors remain the same; however, some of the small black and white detail accents have been replaced with a bolder trim of silver as a tribute to the state’s history in the silver mining industry. Additionally, the number system (not pictured) was inspired by the team’s original font, but has been simplified for clearer arena and broadcast visual.

Lastly, the jersey now features the Colorado inspired “C” mark on the shoulders as a call out to the franchise’s home state.
