Though you shouldn’t expect to see him doing the same at Coors Field next season, Colorado Rockies prospect Scott Burcham got to play the hero at the World Baseball Classic on Monday.

With his infield single in the 10th inning, Burcham lifted Israel over South Korea, 2-1; as pinch runner Mike Meyers scored from third.

After beating the heavily favored South Koreans, Israel would put themselves into good position to advance to the second round if they are able to beat Taiwan on Tuesday.

Selected in the 25th round of the 2015 MLB Draft, Burcham spent last season with the team’s full-season single-A affiliate the Asheville Tourists. In 61 games, the 23-year-old hit.271, with two home runs, seven stolen bases and 22 RBIs.
