Rockies shortstop Trevor Story walked off the field Sunday with a smile on his face, but just a few minutes earlier it seemed that he might be leaving with a grimace. Story scored on Mark Reynolds’ walk-off, two-run home run to give the Rockies a series split with Arizona after being hit in the hand by a pitch from Silvino Bracho.

Story was evaluated by trainers and manager Walt Weiss on the field but remained in the game. Postgame he met reporters and said the hand is “good” and that he does not plan to miss any time.

Fans can now look forward to the highly anticipated “Trevor vs. Tulo” showdown that will see the shortstop of the future playing on the same field for the first time against the man who held down the position for the better part of a decade, Troy Tulowitzki.

Tulowitzki was traded to Toronto near the trade deadline last July. The Rockies and Blue Jays play a three-game series starting Monday at 6:40 p.m. MDT.
