It seems as if it’s become a weekly tradition for the NFL to fine a Denver Broncos defender, and this week, it’s Von Miller‘s turn.

According to Troy Renck of the Denver Post, Miller was fined $8,681 for this late hit on Tom Brady.

“They got me. I am going to appeal, though,” Miller said.

It’s hard to imagine Miller’s going to have much luck on an appeal, though. Whether you’ve got orange-tinted glasses on or not, that was a blatant penalty. Really, Miller should just consider himself lucky he was flagged for a late hit and not for roughing the passer; that would have brought along a $17,363 fine.

Still, while the penalty extended a Patriots drive, it may have been worth it just for this face:

Let’s just keep it between the whistles next time, okay?
