In the 30 days leading up to the start of Denver Broncos Training Camp 2016, we’re examining 30 big questions for the season. We’ll make a case for each answer; you’ll vote and tell Broncos Country what’s going to happen this year.

After Peyton Manning decided to ride off into the sunset following the Denver Broncos Super Bowl 50 victory, everyone believed that Brock Osweiler would take the reins full time in Denver. But when free agency rolled around back in March, Osweiler decided to sign a four year, $72 million deal with the Houston Texans leaving the Broncos in an awkward position with Trevor Siemian as the only quarterback on their roster.

A few days later, the Broncos traded for veteran quarterback Mark Sanchez, providing the Broncos with a viable option for a starter if all else failed. The Broncos then traded up in the draft to select Paxton Lynch out of the University of Memphis – presumably their new quarterback of the future – in the first round.

Quarterbacks selected in the first round are regularly thrown into starting positions during their rookie year, but with only a few weeks until camp and Super Bowl aspirations again in the minds of the coaches and players, this doesn’t seem to be the case in Denver.

Head coach Gary Kubiak has made it clear that the quarterback competition has been narrowed down to Sanchez and Siemian, but that certainly doesn’t eliminate the possibility of seeing Lynch take a snap as the Denver Broncos starting quarterback in 2016. Should Sanchez or Siemian encounter bumps along the way, Kubiak will be feeling plenty of pressure to put the new kid on the field.

With no definitive starter heading into camp, when will Lynch play a meaningful snap in the NFL?

Scenario 1: Lynch comes into camp having studied hard and worked even harder. He simply outplays both Sanchez and Siemian to earn the starting job heading into the season opener against the Carolina Panthers. One of those two is cut and the Broncos become Lynch’s team faster than anyone expected.

Scenario 2: After a very competitive camp, the Broncos go with a veteran, either Sanchez or Siemian, to start the season. Sanchez will not be the player he was with the New York Jets and Siemian will show why he was third on the depth chart last season. The Broncos get off to a slow start and Kubiak will name Lynch the starter between weeks two and nine. With the playoffs looking like a distant hope, the on-the-job training begins.

Scenario 3: (Could go two ways)

The Broncos could get off to a good start to the season with either Sanchez or Siemian at quarterback. They will be in contention to make the playoffs at the halfway point and then the starter goes down with an injury. Lynch will have to step in between Weeks 9 and 16 and try to lead the Broncos to the playoffs or until the starter is healthy once again.

OR

The Broncos reach the halfway point with a dismal record and their season effectively over. Without a real quarterback they just can’t find a way to compete and have already thrown in the towel. Lynch assumes the starting role between Weeks 9 and 16 for no other reason than to get some experience under his belt heading into 2017.

Scenario 4: The Broncos find themselves atop the AFC West and use Week 17 as an oppourtunity to rest their starters. After observing from the sidelines throughout the entire regular season, Kubiak uses Week 17 as an opportunity to see what he has in Lynch. Lynch see’s his first significant snap in the final game of the regular season.

What does Broncos Country think? When will Paxton Lynch see his first meaningful snap?
