After being disappointed last offseason once they got their hopes up, many in Broncos Country are being cautious in their optimism about Aaron Rodgers joining the franchise this year.

However, reports about the superstar quarterback potentially joining the Broncos continue to pile up, and one of the franchise’s foremost legends was the latest to weigh in on the likelihood of the team landing Rodgers.

“I do, and I’m not playing. I’m serious,” Davis said when asked about what he thought Rodgers would do during an appearance on FanDuel’s “More Ways to Win” betting show.

“I’ve heard from too many insiders, too many sources, it makes too much sense for us not to get Aaron Rodgers. That’s the talk of Denver. I’m in Denver now, so I hear daily talk on radio.. and it sounds like that is the most likely scenario for the Broncos is to bring in Aaron Rodgers.”

Davis, who was enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2017 and won both MVP and Super Bowl MVP during his time with the Broncos, also mentioned his belief that the hiring of Nathaniel Hackett — who reportedly built a tight bond with Rodgers during his time as Green Bay’s offensive coordinator — helps Denver’s case.

“It helps that Nathaniel Hackett, his OC [in Green Bay] is our head coach now. It helps. I’m not saying that was the reason, but it helps,” Davis said.

This lines up with a recent USA Today report that stated Hackett was working hard to reunite with Rodgers.

With the way last offseason went, it’s hard to blame Broncos fans for withholding their excitement to some extent, but things appear to be trending in the right direction for those in Denver.
