The Denver Broncos attempted to snap a seven-game losing streak against the Miami Dolphins Sunday.

Former Dolphins defensive coordinator, now turned Broncos head coach Vance Joseph matched up against his former team and certainly, would like to pull his team out of the hole they’re in against his former team. A losing streak the team hasn’t experience in 50 years.

In a first quarter filled with sloppy turnovers and poor offensive play, the Broncos Trevor Siemian was picked off by T.J. McDonald after a pass bounced off Emmanuel Sanders hands, and into the Dolphins’ safety for the pick.

After the Denver defense stiffened on the Dolphin’s offense, including a big two-sack effort from Shelby Harris. The Broncos were set to receive the punt.

The recently activated Isaiah McKenzie, who struggled all-year long catching punts, muffing five on the season so far, was once again trusted by the coaching staff on punts and did deliver.

On the following drive however, the trend of poor offensive play continued for Denver, with a poor snap from Matt Paradis going haywire in the end zone, which was defined as a ‘aborted’ play, resulting in a safety.

In the Broncos third drive of the first quarter, Siemian moved the offense down the field, hitting lightly-used tight end Virgil Green for a deep 36 yard completion down the left side-line. The drive stalled however, resulting in a 31-yard field goal from Brandon McManus. Noted on the drive, Emmanuel Sanders had his ankle stepped on while running a deep-out to the left,

But quickly things turned for Denver after their 3-2 lead only held for 3:49, after Cutler hit former Bronco Julius Thomas in the end zone to take a 9-3 lead, which ballooned to 16-3 after Siemian threw his second interception of the game, this one returned for a touchdown by Xavien Howard.

The Broncos would get their first turnover of the day from Chris Harris Jr., when he picked-off Cutler late in the second half. Harris Jr. joins Richard Sherman and Glover Quinn as the only cornerbacks to have multiple interceptions over the last six years.

The Broncos finished the half failing to score again, trailing 16-3 at halftime. Siemian finished the first half 9-19, with two interceptions and a quarterback rating of 24.6
