Just when the Denver Broncos injury report had started to shrink, two new names were added to the list on Thursday. Include Malik Jackson and Demaryius Thomas on the list of players who did not practice on the second day of preparation for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The good news is, both Jackson and Thomas were listed as ‘NIR,’ meaning they were held out for non-inury reasons.

Thomas was given the day off to rest, while Jackson had the day off to welcome a child.

Jackson joins Cody Latimer, Corey Nelson and Jordan Norwood as new dads this season.

There was some concerning news on the injury front, though. T.J. Ward (ankle) was again held out of practice, as was Darian Stewart (hamstring). Both David Bruton (knee) and Omar Bolden (hamstring) were limited again on Thursday, their second day in a row with such status after missing last Sunday’s game.

Five players had upgraded statuses: Cody Latimer (hamstring) and Danny Trevathan (concussion) went from limited to full status, while C.J. Anderson (ankle), Owen Daniels (knee) and Evan Mathis (ankle) went from non-pratice status to limited participation.
