Josh Norman loves to talk. Put a microphone in front of the guy, and you’re sure to grab five to ten soundbites of pure gold — well, maybe fool’s gold.

So, when ESPN Magazine does a feature piece on the Washington Redskins cornerback, formerly of the Carolina Panthers, he didn’t hold back, calling out everyone from his former teammates to Roger Goodell to Demaryius Thomas.

“I don’t know what he was out there for,” Norman said of Thomas in Super Bowl 50. “He was supposed to be an all-world guy, and I shut him down.”

And Norman has a point; he did hold Thomas to one reception for eight yards. What Norman doesn’t have, though, is one of these:

Check and mate.
