The Denver Broncos will have another primetime game before the end of the season. With six games remaining, Denver will have two more primetime games left on their schedule.

The NFL announced on Thursday afternoon that they are flexing the Broncos’ Week 15 matchup against the Detroit Lions on December 16th. The game will air on NFL Network at 6:15 p.m. MT.

Denver’s game against the Lions will be the final game of their upcoming three-game road trip, which begins this Sunday against the Houston Texans, followed by the Los Angeles Chargers next week, ending with a primetime showdown against a red-hot Detroit team.

The flexing of this game is a strong indicator that the NFL believes the Broncos and Lions matchup will have plenty at stake, especially if Denver can win on Sunday against the 6-5 Houston Texans.

With the Broncos firmly in the playoff hunt, Denver has a legitimate shot at making some noise if they can take care of business this Sunday against the Texans and next week against the Chargers, leading into their December 16th game against the Lions.

Under the direction of head coach Dan Campbell, the Lions have been on a roll this season with an 8-3 record where they currently sit 3rd in the NFC conference standings.

After that, Denver will have another NFL Network primetime game on Christmas Eve against the New England Patriots.

One thing that stands out about the Broncos’ five-game win streak is that they’ve become one of the NFL’s most interesting teams despite their sluggish 1-5 start to the season. Broncos head coach Sean Payton has them playing at a competitive and complementary level, leading to an impressive turnaround.

For the first time in what seems like an eternity, the Broncos will be playing meaningful football in the month of December and will need to capitalize on every opportunity in front of them.
